The project partners officially launched the project on 1 October 2025, launching a joint action to support the mental health of Europe’s youngest pupils.

The partnership brings together organisations from a number of countries: Consortium leader – ADN Institute, Poland, Partners: Interregió Fórum Egyesület, Hungary, DATEY Eyrich GmbH, Germany, Fundatia Regionet Centru de Dezvoltare Regionala, Romania, Intermunicipal Branch of the Union of Polish Teachers in Kutno, Poland, ALTEREDU Nonprofit Kft, Hungary, Institute of Language and the Polish Culture in Ghent, Belgium.

The main objective of the MindPlay project is to improve the mental well-being of children in classes 0-3 by providing teachers in early childhood education and the whole school community with modern training programmes and innovative tools for the prevention and diagnosis of mental health risks. The project also aims to improve the competences of teachers, educators and school leaders by equipping them with a comprehensive set of complementary solutions.

MindPlay is a long-term initiative whose effects will have a direct impact on improving the safety and mental health of the youngest pupils, as well as the potential to influence the European approach to ensuring safety and mental health in education.

A number of activities are planned under the project, including:

  • Mapping the competence needs of early childhood teachers, school educators, school leaders and parents of the youngest students;
  • The development of multilingual training programmes;
  • The creation of innovative tools, such as a psychological board game and a digital game to support the diagnosis of risks;
  • Preparation of scenarios for integration games;
  • Pilot training and testing of solutions developed;
  • Valorisation and dissemination activities.

The project will result in a comprehensive set of materials and tools, including a report on competence needs, a competency and risk matrix, seven training programmes, a psychological board game and a digital game, intervention procedures and an implementation strategy in schools.

A key deliverable will also be the multilingual MindPlay portal in English and the national languages of the project partners, available free of charge 24/7, offering wide access to all resources developed.

The launch of the MindPlay project is an important step towards building a more informed and supportive school environment, where the safety and mental health of the youngest pupils is a top priority.
