On 15 October 2025, an official kick-off meeting took place online for the MindPlay project – Mental Health & Safety of Young Pupils through play.
The meeting brought together representatives of all partners from Poland, Hungary, Germany, Belgium and Romania to present their teams, agree on common project objectives and set an action plan for the coming months.
The MindPlay initiative aims to improve the mental well-being of the youngest pupils by providing early childhood education teachers, the entire school community, new training programmes and innovative tools for the prevention and diagnosis of pupils’ mental health in classes 0-3. Improving the competences and skills of teachers, educators, managers and equipping them with a comprehensive set of complementary tools will contribute in the long term to improving the safety and mental well-being of students.
The participants of the meeting agreed on monthly coordination meetings and outlined the next steps of the project. The first key step of the project implementation is to develop a methodology to examine the competency needs with a set of mentors to carry out the mapping in all countries involved in the project implementation and to start their implementation.
The discussion covered issues related to the signature of Partnership Contracts, the delivery of cores for reporting.
The importance of using project management tools, such as a shared google disk, to ensure transparent communication, effectively track progress and allow access to all materials for any partner was also highlighted.
Partners stressed the importance of cooperation and documentation in all project activities. A face-to-face meeting is planned for the first quarter of 2026 in Ghent at Partner’s premises in Belgium. A specific date will be set in the next Partnership meetings.
Partners stressed that the MindPlay project has great potential to play an important role in improving the safety and well-being of the youngest pupils at school and supporting long-term international cooperation in creating innovative solutions for enhancing the competences of the Teaching Crew.
