The curriculum development phase of the Erasmus+ AI Empowered Educators project has reached a new milestone: course modules are now being developed to directly support teachers in using artificial intelligence consciously and confidently in their day-to-day teaching work.
The development is based on one of the project’s core principles: every learning activity must lead to a tangible result that is ready for use in the classroom. For this reason, rather than lengthy theoretical explanations, the training incorporates short videos, visual summaries, interactive tasks, real-life classroom examples and methods that can be tried out straight away.
The course materials will help participants to create AI-supported solutions tailored to their own subject and teaching objectives. By the end of each section of the course, for example, participants may have produced a set of exercises, illustrative material, differentiated teaching resources or a new lesson idea.
The training also demonstrates how teachers’ existing materials — such as curriculum content, reading texts or notes — can be transformed into a wide variety of digital learning tools. A single source material can be used to create, for example:
- quiz or set of practice exercises
- study guide
- mind map or infographic
- audio material
- short video clips.
Professional development is not solely about the use of tools. The course also supports teachers in selecting the tool and type of content best suited to a given learning objective, as well as in harnessing the potential of AI to support differentiation, assessment and the responsible and safe use of technology in education.
The first video resources are now ready: the NotebookLM catalogue demonstrates just how much varied content, ready for immediate use in the classroom, can be created from a single source material.
In developing the teaching materials, great emphasis is placed not only on academic rigour but also on ensuring the content is easy to follow and visually appealing. The training programme currently being developed will therefore not only offer new knowledge but will also provide inspiration and practical, immediately applicable support for teachers.
