The content structure of the AI Empowered Educators project’s online teacher training course has been finalised. The course covers the most important professional, methodological and ethical issues relating to the use of artificial intelligence in education across eight modules that build on one another.
The final curriculum structure is based on the needs and experiences of Hungarian, Romanian and Polish teachers, meaning the course directly addresses the challenges encountered in day-to-day teaching.
The course’s content arc begins with an understanding of how AI works and its limitations, then gradually moves on to the practical use of tools, differentiation, inclusive education and assessment. Later modules of the training focus on the conscious pedagogical integration of AI, as well as on supporting pupils’ critical and responsible use of AI.
One of the guiding principles behind the course’s design is that artificial intelligence should not be presented as a standalone technological topic, but rather as an integral part of pedagogical planning and day-to-day teaching. The content therefore addresses not only the use of individual tools, but also their pedagogically purposeful, safe and responsible application.
The eight modules of the course:
- The fundamentals of artificial intelligence and critical AI literacy
Understanding how AI works, its possibilities and limitations, and critically interpreting technological promises. - Ethics, security and the responsible use of AI
Data protection, learners’ rights, algorithmic biases, fairness, transparency and a human-centred pedagogical approach. - AI tools and prompt design as pedagogical practice
Effective prompting, and the pedagogical application of advanced AI solutions and digital content creation tools. - AI-supported differentiation and personalised learning
Supporting curriculum content and individual learning pathways tailored to different ability levels. - AI in inclusive education and supporting special educational needs
The potential of AI in creating inclusive learning environments and supporting diverse learner needs. - AI-supported formative assessment
Formative feedback, identifying learning gaps and the deliberate planning of assessment tasks. - Pedagogical integration: incorporating AI into teaching
The deliberate, sustainable and pedagogically sound integration of AI into everyday teaching practice. - Empowering pupils: pupils’ AI literacy and the responsible use of AI
Preparing pupils for the critical, responsible and informed use of AI, and establishing the relevant classroom frameworks.
Together, the eight modules form a comprehensive professional framework that addresses the educational application of AI within a unified system from pedagogical, methodological and ethical perspectives.
